Positive Behaviour for Learning

We use Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) as a whole-school, evidence-based approach designed to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for every child.

Our school-wide expectations (Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be a Learner) are explicitly taught, modeled, practiced and positively reinforced across the school.

PBL helps us build a positive school culture by teaching students the behaviours we value, reinforcing them regularly, monitoring progress with data, and providing layered support to meet everyone’s needs.

At the end of each school term, we have a whole-school PBL reward session. Reward choices are based on student requests and include water play days, movie sessions, games and activities, visits from programs like Peddle Power, and our most popular event is the annual Colour Fun Run where students even get to slime their teachers!
